Born in Feb 8, 1981, Grospellier currently resides in London. He was the first person to reach PokerStars’ VIP statuses Supernova and Supernova Elite, having collected 100k player points within 2 weeks and 1,000,000 points within four and half months of joining.
Grospellier has been entered into the Guinness Book of World Records for playing the largest number of Sit n Go’s within one hour. By 2011, Grospellier has won more than $8,400,000 playing live poker tournaments.
In 2007, Grospellier won the EPT’s Copenhagen event for €309,000. In 2008, he won the EPT PokerStars Caribbean Poker Adventure and added $2,000,000 to his bankroll. The following year, Grospellier could not win the PokerStars Caribbean Poker Adventure Main Event, but he collected $433,500 in the $25k High Rollers’ Side Event.
In 2008, Grospellier won the Festa al Lago event of the WPT, collecting the first prize of $1.4 million. This success earned him the title of WPT Player of the Year.
In 2009, Grospellier won the WCOOP bracelet during its thirty-eighth event and yet another bracelet after 3 days in the forty-third event. He won a total of $500k in just 3 days.
Grospellier’s WSOP success is just as impressive. His first WSOP bracelet came in 2011 when he was playing the Seven Card Stud Championship. He won a total of $331,639 that day and became the fourth professional poker player to win an EPT, a WPT, and a WSOP title.
Top StarCraft Player
Grospellier is also interested in StarCraft and has finished second in the World Cyber Games in 2001. He continued playing in South Korea, finishing fourth in the Onagmenet Starleague. He played the brand new WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos in 2002 and finished second in the Ongamenet WarCraft Retail League, an event that was shown on TV, before quitting the game.
