Some of the best things to do in life come with multiple activities.  With online poker today, a player can (potentially): play poker, have fun doing so, make money and, actually make friends, all at the same time!  So the online version of poker is not just a great way to play the game.  There is so much more to it. Actually, when you do decide to play poker online, you really do get out of it what you put in. And it is up to each individual to make their poker playing time online as substantial and fun as they want it to be.  But you have to put in the effort and you have to want to do it. What you want to do in the social poker world, is try to get a sense of what kind of person you are dealing with. You can often tell this from the poker name:  the softer it is (if it’s animal connected for example), the softer the person behind it might be.  But remember, by nature, for sure very good poker players are generally pretty competitive people so you might want to bear that in mind when making friends.
