Craps is the game where you bet on the outcome of two dice. Many players think that it is very complicated because of the many different types of craps bets that are available. This is not necessarily so. It is true that a beginner player should stick to the very basic craps bets but it doesn’t take a lot of effort to understand more and advance the game. Make sure to learn what bets to stay away from and use the opportunity of great online gaming to enjoy the best craps games available.
How to Bet on Craps
In online craps you always get into the game at the very start which is called the Come Out roll. When you walk into a land-based casino it could be more difficult to understand where a game is holding. Make sure to determine whether a Point has been established or not so that you know what type of craps bet you can make. Before the Point is established you will typically only bet on 7 or 11 or craps coming up and after this you have the additional number of the Point to bet on.
The Basic Craps Bets
The very first bet you will learn to make is the Pass Line bet. You could stick to this bet forever as it comes with good odds and is a fun bet to play. In this bet you want a 7 or 11 to be rolled on the Come Out roll. If another number is rolled it will be the Point unless it is a 2, 3 or 12 which makes a craps and you a loser!
The Come Bet is the same as the Pass Line bet but it is placed once the Point has been established. The object of this bet is to roll a 7 before the Point number is rolled again. If you play these bet with “Don’t” added to the name it means that they are reversed. You want craps to be rolled to win and the Point to come up before 7.
Moving into the Field
The Field bet is a fun bet to play and it comes with pretty OK odds. This bet can only be played as the game has started. You bet that 3, 4, 9, 10 or 11 will be rolled and if it is you will win even money. If 5, 6, 7 or 8 are rolled the game is lost.
Bets To Stay Away From
There are bets that are called Hardway bets and these come with a very high house edge. To win these bets you need 4, 6, 8 or 10 rolled in pairs. If they should be rolled but not in pairs or a 7 comes up first you lose. They might be fun to play but craps strategy will tell you to stay away from them!
