Super Six (6) Baccarat Game Betting
What is the difference between Baccarat and Super Six Baccarat?
Baccarat, which initially had the reputation of being a casino game for the elite sections of society, is today a game that can be played by anybody with a good-sized bankroll. Although not as popular as roulette and blackjack, baccarat still enjoys a number of fans, owing to which online casinos have developed a number of baccarat variants such as live dealer baccarat, multiplayer baccarat, and Super Six Baccarat.
Super Six Baccarat is easy to play, and anybody who understands the basic rules of baccarat will understand this game. One might wonder what the difference between baccarat and Super Six Baccarat is? the difference lies not in the rules, but in the payout structure. Before understanding the payout structure and betting structure of Super Six Baccarat, players must learn how to play Super Six Baccarat.
Super Six Baccarat Rules
Baccarat involves two hands - the Banker’s hand and the Player’s hand, and players are challenged to bet that either the Banker’s hand or the Player’s hand will win the game. They can also bet that the game will end in a tie.
The aim of the players, therefore, is to correctly predict whether the Banker or the Player will get a hand as close to nine as possible. Once the bet is placed, both player and the dealer will receive a hand of 2 cards.
In Super Six Baccarat:
-
All cards from deuces to nines are taken at face value
-
All the ten cards and picture cards are considered to be zero
-
All the aces are considered to be equal to one.
A hand that equals 8 points or 9 points is considered to be a natural hand and is the strongest hand in baccarat. A natural hand is considered to be the winner unless the other hand also is a natural, in which case it is considered to be a tie. If both hands are naturals and if players have placed the Banker or Player bet, they will get back their bets and will not lose any money.
If neither the player nor the banker gets a natural hand, they can receive a third card based on certain conditions.
Payout Structure
The payout structure is the only unique feature of Super Six Baccarat. All winning Banker bets are paid 1:1 except when the Banker gets a hand equaling six, in which case players will receive 0.5:1. Besides, players can purchase an insurance bet on the possibility that the Banker will get 6. If players win this bet, they will get paid 12:1 or 12x their bet amount. The “super six” of Super Six Baccarat is, therefore, the term given to the banker’s hand if it equals six.
The insurance bet mentioned above is an optional side bet and it is not mandatory for players to place a bet that the banker’s hand will turn out to be a six.
Here are the payouts in brief: if players win their Player or Banker bets, they will receive even money. All winning Tie bets get a payout of 8x players’ bet amounts. All winning Super Six bets get a payout of 12x players’ bet amounts. If players place the Banker bet and the banker gets 6 instead of 9, they will receive half their bets back.
Baccarat experts, however, warn that the Super Six Bet is a sucker bet, designed to increase the house profits. The banker’s chance of getting a six is 5.39 percent and the player’s chance of getting a six is 6.26 percent. While the house edge is 30 percent for the banker, it is 18.68 percent for the player.
